Good luck with the vegetarianism. I've tried to go there a couple times before but man... I think cheeseburgers are harder to give up than smoking.

I have an older cousin named Stephanie; she is legit and doesn’t mess around with nicknames or fairy-tale identities. I fear writing anymore at the moment may drown my keyboard in tears - I love you and have never have felt more cared for in my life.

like, don’t stick objects, no matter how benign they may seem, into electrical outlets. or, in general, if you dont know where it has been, you probably shouldn’t put it in your mouth. also, plastic plates shouldn’t go in toaster ovens and power tools and cheap beer do not always mix well.

You know this is why people go to MIT - to solve these issues. By the time he graduates he will have probably figured out how and why to stick metal in an outlet, a realtime test for food passing to the mouth, a plastic that can withstand the microwave...
all while using powertools fueled by cheap beer.

There is a law that you can't bike on sidewalks downtown? Oops, haha, that's ridiculous though, its way too scary to bike in the streets downtown. I'll take a "high speed" bike chase from a cop over getting hit by a car any day.

Wow, I am so with you on this. I live a couple of miles from my job, but have not biked there yet because I LIKE MY LIFE and do not want to die. There is a law that you can't ride on sidewalks downtown, and I haven't figured out the best back route yet.

And Lexington had a cyclovia this past Sunday. Except they didn't call it that. It was just called Second Sunday, and they closed one of the main downtown drags for a mile, and people could bike, skate, walk, whatever. It was more a "get off your fat asses" thing than a cycling thing. Anyway. It was cool. And I rode seven miles. So yeah, I could totally ride to work and back.

Perhaps I need a big-ass fluorescent flag to stick on the back of my bike...

My first week of college was nothing like that (although there may have been a keg involved at some point). And at my advanced age, I'm feeling kind of disgusted at what you described.

I can relate with wanting to throw out the past. But there's nothing wrong with holding close the good pieces. I think we have fundamentals about ourselves and we have to make certain trash/junk doesn't pile up around them -- and people/situations don't distract from them. Thank you for this entry. W.
