slow day
its rainy out. its been raining here for 4 days now. we needed it, but 4 days of rain seriously begins to affect my mood. its also a slow day at work today. i think i will use the time to work on some photos i took at the annapolis boat show earlier this month and try to put together the new blog theme. between the house and school and work, i havent really had much time for…well, anthing. so i am also using this time to catch up on some blog reading. i read a post over at superhero that caught my attention. the question asked is: “what would you do if you knew you couldnt fail?”
if i knew i couldnt fail, i would quit my job, sell my house and leave for europe. i would write. travel the world. take photos. sail the atlantic. love completely and without fear. pursue only things that are important or beautiful to me. commit for life to someone who deserves that from me. make every decision without second guessing myself. and grow older peacefully, without concern for my future.
some of those dreams i will accomplish, some i will try and fail at, others i will never even attempt. the reality is that you can fail, but you cant always fear failure. some things are worth the risk. others just are not.
If you get a chance, pop over and read some of the responses left in the comments. Reading other peoples dreams inspires us to dream ourselves. The question and its answers, lead to a very simply but often overlooked observation that andrea brings up in the next post – “The things that scare us are often what bring us the most joy.”
I need to read more
